European Trip Jan 2012
Pretzel in Munich. So salty I had to snap off the coarse grains and deposit them on the floor.
I went back to Europe in January from NYC. I was away for a few weeks performing with my band Anxieteam, lecturing at some universities and exhibiting some new works. Here's a select few photos from my trip.
Diorama of Munich donuts.
Banner outside of the gallery. My exhibition was with my friend Jim Avignon.
I never know what to do at openings, especially when I don't know many people and don't speak the language. So I resort to taking photos and looking uneasy.
Some of my paintings.
A large pencil crayon drawing about going to art openings.
After our gigs in Munich and London we played the final one of our mini tour in Nottingham. This was taken towards the end of the performance when we'd convinced the crowd to join us dancing.
A fan made me a little burger-head man toy. I kept him in my ukulele case. I also received a Mars bar from someone who read on Twitter that I had a craving for one. Isn't modern social media amazing! Next time I will mention I have a craving for cash and naked women...
Post gig curry at Desi Downtown in Nottingham. This used to be my favourite restaurant. They've grown the place to double the size since I left Nottingham and have lost a little bit of it's charm and quality in doing so.
I got in a couple of drinks in Glasgow. This is how slow I am at drinking; My pint is on the right, and this is after sitting with my friend for just a couple of minutes.
Riding around on the Glasgow subway (or is called the tube or metro?)
I tried to take a photo of a lovely little furry squirrel in a park in Glasgow but the little bugger moved just as my shutter snapped.
Tasty British breakfast in a cafe in Glasgow. I miss baked beans in NYC, the few places that serve them insist on polluting them with bacon. Pah!
I have a lecture at a college in the east of Paris. I was plagued by a tickling little cough, much to the delight of the students no doubt.
At a dinner party in Paris I was introduced to this amazing and essential innovation: A battery operated salt grinder that also has a torch so you can grind in low light levels.
At the dinner party someone revealed this strange chocolate creation for dessert. I declined a nibble on the nipples.
A live painting I did in Paris for my exhibition called Fast Food. See a video of it here.
I made a new screenprint for the exhibition too. It's a small edition of 40 and can be purchased from the gallery Sergeantpaper.
I was disappointed by the distribution of flavours in this bag of Fruitellas (my preferred flight sweets).
