Lossy Data Lab

Jon Burgerman teamed up with Heliumcowboy Gallery (Hamburg) in New York to create an installation and interactive artwork at the SCOPE art fair New York.

The Lossy Data Lab is a special art laboratory researching lossy data; what is it and where it goes.

This was done through questionnaires, word association games, psychological profiling, spacial awareness tests and using cutting edge, specially designed technical equipment. Artworks based on the results of the various tests were created during the fair in the science center. Further analysis and reports were generated following the involvement of the visitors to the Lab.

Several lab rats did escape during the week but most were returned to their cage unharmed.
